Car Transported California to Texas
Bill A.I used the expedited shipping option and they told me it will be picked up within 3-4days. Luckily my car was picked up on the very first day. It was assigned to one of their transport companies and I received my car within 10days. They are very professional.
Why a Broker Gets Your Car There Faster
Direct Express is a licensed broker rather than a trucking fleet — and for you, that is the advantage. Here is why.
Flexible Auto Shipping Rates: You Choose the Priority
Every vehicle shipment is available at three service levels — Standard, Expedited and Rush. Choose the one that fits your timeline and budget. All three include full door-to-door service and carrier insurance.
Most vehicles cost $700 to $2,100 door to door, depending on distance, vehicle size, transport type and how quickly you need it. Your exact price across all three tiers takes about 30 seconds — see the full car shipping cost breakdown.

Twenty years of moving vehicles builds something you cannot shortcut: carrier density on the corridors that matter. On our busiest lanes there is almost always a truck already heading your way — which means a better price and a faster pickup than a route we have to build from scratch.
Those twelve are the busiest, not the limit. We publish a dedicated page for state-to-state routes, each with transit expectations and lane-specific guidance.
Questions About Direct Express Auto Transport
Are you a broker or a carrier?
We’re a licensed broker. We match your vehicle with a vetted carrier from our nationwide network of insured haulers, which means we can find a truck already running your route rather than making you wait for ours.
How long has Direct Express been in business?
Since 2004. Direct Express Auto Transport Inc. is family owned and has operated from San Anselmo, California for more than twenty years.
Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes. USDOT #2231879, MC #479342, BBB accredited with an A+ rating. Every carrier we dispatch is required to hold active FMCSA authority and cargo insurance with a minimum of $150,000 in coverage. You can verify all of it on the FMCSA SAFER register.
How do you vet your carriers?
We check active operating authority, current cargo insurance, the DOT safety record and customer feedback before any carrier is assigned to your shipment. Carriers who let our customers down don’t get called again.
What happens if my car is damaged in transit?
Damage is documented on the Bill of Lading at delivery, which is why the inspection at both ends matters — note anything at all before the driver leaves. The carrier’s cargo insurance covers the vehicle from pickup through delivery, and we’ll help you through the claim.
Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?
You or an adult you designate must be there to sign the Bill of Lading at both ends. It’s usually a fifteen-minute appointment.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes. Since nothing is charged until a carrier is assigned, you can cancel before that point at no cost and with no cancellation fee.
Where do you ship?
All 48 contiguous states, door to door. We don’t currently handle Hawaii, Alaska or international shipments directly.
What types of vehicles do you ship?
Sedans, SUVs, trucks, vans, classic and collector cars, and vehicles that don’t start but still roll, brake and steer. We don’t handle vehicles that need a flatbed.
Do you handle dealership and auction transport?
Yes — including Copart, Manheim, ADESA, Barrett-Jackson, Mecum, Cars & Bids and eBay Motors, as well as dealer-to-dealer moves.
Can I track my shipment?
On many shipments, yes. Some carriers provide GPS tracking through the driver and we’ll share it on request, though not every carrier offers it. You always have direct contact with your assigned driver, and most customers get a call the day before delivery.
What does it cost to ship a car?
Most vehicles run $700 to $2,100 door to door depending on distance, size, transport type and speed. For the full breakdown and an instant price, see our car shipping cost calculator.
